The role
From Google's own posting.
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
The Fuchsia Technical Program Manager (TPM) team is looking for help! Our charter is to support the efficient, high quality development and evolution of Fuchsia as a platform. We partner closely with engineering directors, engineering managers, and Tech Leads across Google. We are looking for an exceptional TPM to partner closely with engineering to practice technical judgment, realize and mitigate risks, understand technical trade-offs, and implement operational excellence to engineering processes. Here is a tremendous opportunity to carve out your own niche using your domain expertise and have a massive impact on a platform that is still in very early stages.
Fuchsia is a modern, open source operating system that is simple, secure, updatable, and performant. It’s a general purpose OS, designed to power an ecosystem of hardware and software, and provides core operating system functions like system resource management, a driver framework, and software abstractions.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
