Want to see us in action? Follow us on Instagram @zopalife The team Unsecured Personal Loans is one of Zopa’s largest and most established products, sitting at the heart of the bank’s growth ambitions. As a Product Manager in UPL Growth, you will own a meaningful part of how we originate loans: the decisioning, data and product journeys that determine who we can lend to, how confidently we can make an offer, and how simply customers can access one. This is far more than keeping a mature product moving. You will have the space to identify the biggest opportunities to improve conversion, eligibility and growth, then take them from a commercial hypothesis through discovery and delivery into measurable results. That might mean rethinking how we use third-party data, improving a partner journey, or changing the rules and logic behind our lending decisions. You will work in a small, ambitious product team alongside three flexible backend engineering teams, with close partnership from Credit Risk, Data Science and First Line Risk. The work is complex, fast-moving and consequential: the decisions you shape will directly influence customer outcomes and the scale of Zopa’s lending business. The work sits closer to commercial and analytical reasoning than to customer discovery — you will spend as much time interrogating data, sizing opportunities and shaping decisioning logic as you will running user research. If that sounds like the kind of PM work you are drawn to, this role is built for you. A day in the life Own a defined area of the UPL growth roadmap, from opportunity sizing through to launch, measurement and iteration. Turn commercial and customer signals into a clear product strategy, choosing where to focus and what not to pursue. Shape the origination and decisioning experience, including the rules, journeys and data that sit behind a customer receiving a loan offer. Lead cross-functional discovery with Engineering, Credit Risk and Data Science to find the most valuable, feasible route to growth. Develop propositions that give customers greater clarity and confidence before they invest time in a full application. Make the call on scope and sequencing, balancing customer value, risk, commercial return and engineering effort. Use data to uncover friction, validate hypotheses and quantify the impact of your work. Bring new growth ideas into the roadmap, from smarter use of existing data to new external data sources and partner opportunities. Translate complex lending and technical problems into decisions that senior stakeholders can align behind. Build, launch and continually improve products that help Zopa move closer to becoming the UK’s leading unsecured lender. About you You are analytically strong and comfortable using data to find non-obvious product insight. You have made product decisions that delivered measurable commercial outcomes. You can partner closely with engineers through scope and timeline trade-offs. You approach ambiguous problems with sound judgement and a bias for practical progress. You communicate clearly with senior stakeholders across technical and risk-focused teams. You are motivated by growth, efficiency and business impact. Added bonus Experience in lending, consumer credit or related financial products. Familiarity with originations, underwriting, pricing or servicing. A quantitative foundation through study or equivalent experience. Experience in a fast-paced, data-led fintech environment. At Zopa we value flexible ways of working. We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week. You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year!* But no matter where you are, we’ll make sure you’ve got everything you need to thrive, both in your work and home life, from day one. *Subject to having the right to work in the country of choice Diversity Statement Zopa is proud to offer a workplace free from discrimination. Diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to better products for our customers and a unique company culture for our people. We are made up of nearly 50 nationalities, have a DE&I forum made up of Zopians wanting to make a difference and we are proud of our culture where everyone can bring their full self to work. Our approach to DE&I is reflected in our hiring process so please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments. Our approach to AI in interviews At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out — it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030 , we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs. Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process. Behavioural and competency-based interviews : please don't use AI . These conversations are designed to understand you — your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other. Technical interviews: it depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don't. Your Talent Partner will let you know what's expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we'll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it – the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
