We're seeking someone to join our team as a Lead Software Developer - Fixed Income Municipal Securities eTrading in FICFX to code, deliver software, and work closely with our clients on both sales and trading. The role will include a combination of long-term strategic development and shorter-term business focused development on the fixed-income trading platform. Morgan Stanley traders use this platform to trade Fixed Income Securitized products like Fixed Income Muni & Credit.

This is a Software Engineering position at Vice-President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:
Deliver increased automation to the trading desk
Expand electronic trading capabilities by creating and expanding Algos.
Take full ownership of projects from requirement gathering to roll-out.
Lead the development of new ideas and/or policies in own area.
Analyze multiple sets of information to create summaries for various stakeholders.
What you'll bring to the role:
At least 7+ years of Java working experience in the industry.
Development experience in object-oriented programming and working with mixture of new and legacy systems.
Basic understanding of Fixed Income products is required and ability to communicate with traders.
Good problem-solving, result-focused, can-do attitude, and strong focus to keep the business running and competitive.
Ability to work in a team.
Demonstrate some ability to work with latest AI agents.
Good knowledge of microservices architecture and SQL/Relational Databases.
Nice-to-have skills:
Scala and Python knowledge.
Experience in the finance industry.
Open to learn and work with other technologies & AI tools as business objectives require.

Ce rôle comprend une combinaison de développement stratégique à long terme et de développement axé sur les besoins d’affaires à plus court terme sur la plateforme de négociation de titres à revenu fixe. Les négociateurs de Morgan Stanley utilisent cette plateforme pour négocier des produits titrisés à revenu fixe, notamment les produits municipaux et de crédit à revenu fixe.

Ce que vous ferez dans ce rôle :
Augmenter le degré d’automatisation des pupitres de négociation.
Étendre les capacités de négociation électronique en créant des solutions algorithmiques et en accroissant leur usage.
Assumer l’entière responsabilité des projets, de la collecte des exigences jusqu’au déploiement.
Diriger l’élaboration de nouvelles idées ou politiques dans son propre secteur.
Analyser plusieurs ensembles d’information pour créer des résumés pour divers intervenants.
Ce que demande le rôle :
Au moins 7 ans d’expérience professionnelle en développement Java dans l’industrie.
Expérience en programmation orientée objet et dans l’utilisation d’un mélange d’anciens et de nouveaux systèmes.
Compréhension de base des produits à revenu fixe requise et capacité à communiquer avec les négociateurs.
