Staff Software Engineer, Metabolic Health

The Metabolic Health and Nutrition team develops features that allow users to create weight or nutrition goals, log their food, and receive continual intelligent coaching advice to achieve their goals. Work with Executive Engineers, cross-functional peers, and leadership to craft a roadmap and technical deliverables for the agentic experience in the Google Health app related to Metabolic Health, Nutrition, GLP-1, and chronic disease management as it pertains to nutrition. Scope out, estimate, and architect high-level features and agentic workflows that help users create and achieve their nutrition, weight, and metabolic health goals in the Google Health app. Design infrastructure to accelerate hill-climbing and evaluations, and develop clinical-grade AutoRaters. Mentor and lead other software engineers, helping safeguard and bring up the quality of the team. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products. 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Experience with agentic development. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. Experience launching and iterating on agentic features on a consumer product. Familiarity with data analysis and research techniques. Passion for the health space. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go. 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products. 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Experience with agentic development.
